Africa-Press – Angola. An exhibition of plastic arts by students of the Portuguese School of Luanda (EPL), entitled “Experiences”, will be on display until the 30th of this month, at Camões – Centro Cultural Português, in Luanda.
The exhibition, which opened on Wednesday, is composed of 70 works, made by students, from preschool to 9th grade, during the academic year that is now ending, in the subjects of Visual Education, Technological Education and Visual Arts.
The exhibition, resulting from the joint work of EPL students and teachers, also had the participation of Angolan plastic artists Álvaro Macieira and Van. The students had the opportunity to learn new collage and painting techniques, developing some of the proposals that are now presented in the Visual Arts Exhibition “Experiences”.
The theme “Experiences” appears as inspiration, based on good and bad moments that were recorded in memory and that are now presented on screen. “In a year when we started to leave some restrictions imposed by the pandemic, we decided to present an exhibition full of color , in which each work represents a bit of the life story of each participating child or young person”, highlights the institution’s statement.
The partnership between Camões – Centro Cultural Português and Escola Portuguesa de Luanda has been in existence for 11 years, and according to Cecília Martins, coordinator of the Art at School initiative and the National Arts Plan, through this initiative, every year “Art she comes to the streets to give herself, to donate and to show herself as bold as she is, to the city, to the Luandinos.” It represents an opportunity for the school to leave its natural borders that are the school perimeter and the educational community and get involved. also with other audiences.
