The president of the Superior Council of Military Discipline of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Adão Adriano António, defended, this Friday, in Luanda, continuous innovation and diversification, with a view to enhancing and enhancing the technical and scientific strength of the military in the defense of the homeland.
According to the top brass of the Armed Forces, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year at the Escola Superior de Guerra (ESG), investment in the knowledge of personnel ensures the contribution of military skills to the defense of the country’s soil.
For this purpose, he continued, ESG is a top reference in the FAA education chain, also serving as an option for some countries with excellent relations with Angola, mainly on the African continent.
He highlighted that, in recent years, the institution has undergone significant reforms in the context of higher education, aiming at its consolidation and affirmation, with the prospect of turning it, in the near future, into an Academy of Higher Military Studies.
In turn, the commander of the War ESG, Massoni João, highlighted that the new situation in the development of the FAA has been determined by a complex exercise of scientific, technical and command readaptation, of which military training constitutes one of the main priorities .
He recalled that the school’s mission is not limited to training commanders or leaders, it extends to in-depth investigations into military and other matters, the purpose of which is to produce knowledge and knowledge aligned with the interests of defense and national security.
The military academic year will last approximately ten months.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eugênio Alves da Silva, among other officials.
