Africa-Press – Angola. he head of the main directorate of Troop Preparation and Education of the General Staff of the FAA, Lieutenant General Samuel Zinga Emília, stated Monday, that the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) have evolved and are, on their own merit, an important deterrent component of National defense.

Speaking in Lubango, in the event that marked the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the foundation of the FAA in the Southern Region, the official noted that this body has always fulfilled and continues to fulfill important missions that can be summarized in actions to organize its structures, as well as the organization of units at different levels, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures, provision of resources and services to support populations.

He stressed that the Military Forces will continue to guarantee national independence and ensure the integrity of the Territory, in order to regulate the functioning of democratic institutions and the possibility of carrying out the State’s fundamental tasks, as one of its objectives is to contribute to the development of capabilities moral and material aspects of the community, as well as preventing or reacting through appropriate means to any aggression.

The officer highlighted that the troops’ challenges depend on the evolution of the various political-military scenarios, that is, his philosophy is focused on the continuous training of personnel who are capable of handling complex military resources and equipment.

“At this time when we celebrate our 32nd anniversary, the Angolan Armed Forces remain faithful to the guidelines of the country’s political leadership and always ready to serve the Fatherland, based on the permanent reinforcement of the pillars of hierarchical discipline and single command”, he said.

The ceremony was marked by the patenting of officers.

The Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) are the result of the Bicesse peace agreements of 1991, following the joining of the then forces of the liberation movements belonging to the MPLA, UNITA and FNLA.
