Africa-Press – Angola. The second commander of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Northern Military Region of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Brigadier Basílio Sambalanda, urged this Monday, in Mbanza Kongo, Zaire province, the personnel to remain permanently on standby combative effort to neutralize any actions that endanger the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
The FAA officer was speaking at the provincial event commemorating the 32nd anniversary of the FAA, which is celebrated today under the motto: “Angolan Armed Forces, Guarantee of Peace and Stability”.
To this end, the commander called on the personnel to continually raise the levels of combat preparation, organization, discipline and vigilance.
He recalled the challenges that the FAA has already faced, throughout its history, to safeguard the Nation, with emphasis on achieving peace.
“FAA personnel must be concerned with defense and security today and always, perfecting and enhancing their skills from the point of view of operational and combative preparation and patriotic education”, he emphasized.
The second commander of the FAA’s 2nd Infantry Division said he believes that, with this positioning, the Angolan army will continue to be ready, as in the recent past, to face and repel any internal and external maneuvers.
The provincial event commemorating the anniversary took place at the Command of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Northern Region of the FAA, in the city of Mbanza Kongo.
The Northern Region of the Angolan Armed Forces covers the provinces of Zaire and Uíge, with headquarters in the latter.
