Africa-Press – Angola. The Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA) presented, during the 13th Edition of the Benguela International Fair (FIB), which ended Saturday, Sunday, a total of 14 financial products aimed at supporting family farming in the country.

Among the products presented, the highlight is credit for investment in agricultural equipment, whose pilot phase of the light micro-mechanization program ended successfully on May 7th, with the target group being financing for agricultural cooperatives, individual farmers, micro and small agricultural companies.

The program benefited 9,741 families in the provinces of Namibe, Benguela, Uíge, Malanje, Cuanza-Sul, Huambo, Bié and Huíla. For the second phase, the objective is to reach the largest number of farmers.

Rural credit

FADA’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Amélia Escórcio, explained that the other line presented is rural credit aimed at promoting, developing and empowering gender in rural areas.

This credit, explained Amélia Escórcio, applies to the allocation of financial resources for agribusiness practiced by individual producers, cooperatives and associations, micro and small companies owned by at least 70 percent women.

FADA’s concern lies in relaunching the production of cotton, coffee, honey and cocoa, as major commodities in the agricultural sector. Amélia Escórcio guaranteed the Fund’s commitment to promoting the modernization of agricultural practices, boosting the increase in production areas and productivity.

He made it known that during the FIB, the FADA stand received and registered more than 200 visitors who showed interest in having the Fund as a financing agent for their agricultural activities.
