Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) closed, on Monday, the 4 de Janeiro Municipal Stadium, in the province of Uíge, due to non-compliance with some recommendations recently made by inspectors from the governing body of the sport in the country.
The FAF’s decision is expressed in a statement Tuesday, stating that before the start of this edition of Girabola the stronghold was approved under some conditions.
The document clarifies that, once the deadline for complying with the recommendations has passed, the stadium will be closed until the completion of work to improve the public changing rooms and the tribune, referees’ cabin, replacement of the fallen wall and cleaning of the grass around the playing rectangle .
The statement also states that the FAF is awaiting a statement from the Provincial Football Association (APF) of Uíge on the progress and completion of the ongoing work, in order to schedule the reinspection of the stadium.
On October 29th of this year, Santa Rita de Cássia do Uíge faced, at the Estádio 4 de Janeiro, Sagrada Esperança da Lunda Norte, with the local team recording a defeat by two unanswered balls, in the opening round of this Girabola.
With the closure of the 4 de Janeiro Municipal Stadium, the Angolan Football Federation advises that Santa Rita de Cássia finds an alternative venue to hold its games, until the work guided by inspectors from the aforementioned body is completed.
In the next round of Girabola 2023/2024, Santa Rita de Cássia do Uíge, which occupies 14th position (without scoring), receives, on a field to be defined, Clube Desportivo da Lunda Sul, 7th placed, with 4 points.
