Africa-Press – Angola. A health fair held simultaneously this Wednesday, in the municipalities of Chitato, Cambulo and Xá-muteba, marked the opening of the day commemorating the 48th anniversary of National Independence, to be celebrated on November 11th this year.
The fair served to facilitate citizens with financial difficulties to access special services such as pediatrics, ophthalmology, orthopedics, among others.
The day commemorating November 11th in the province of Lunda Norte will also be marked with inaugurations of socioeconomic infrastructures, lectures, visits and a round table, according to the Government’s program.
At the launch of the program, the director of the Social Communication office of the Government of Lunda Norte, Sónia Ferry, said that sporting, cultural and recreational activities will be carried out, as well as a 16-day march of activism against domestic violence, among others.
The independence of Angola was proclaimed on November 11, 1975 by the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, in Largo 1° de Maio, in Luanda.
Earnings in Lunda Norte
Among the gains of national independence in the province of Lunda Norte, we highlight the Centrality of Mussungue, with 5005 apartments, the rehabilitation of the roads that connect nine of the ten municipalities, the Lueji A’nkonde University, the rehabilitation and expansion of the hydroelectric dam of Luachimo.
In the areas of Education and Health, 192 schools were built, a total of 1,673 classrooms, six equipped municipal hospitals, five at provincial level, 80 health posts and 13 medical centers.
Another highlight is the construction of National Road 225, which connects the province to the country’s coast, the rehabilitation of Kamaquenzo airport, among other gains.
