Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Ju-jitsu Federation (FAJU.J) this Friday summoned the National Team with a view to the World Youth Championship, to be held from 20 to 25 August in Kazakhstan.

Ten athletes were summoned for the event, five of which were in the ne-waza style – Erick Rodrigo (-77 kg), Luís António (-62 kg), Ana Vilela (-62 kg), Luziane Torres (-52 kg) and Eliane Caio ( +63kg).

For the fighting style, Elaine Musungo (-63 kg), João dos Santos (-69 kg), Elisa Francois (-48 kg), Ruth Baltazar (-52 kg) and Marcelina Caliqui (-45 kg) were selected.

Vieira António will guide the fighting style, while Pakisi Nginga will lead the ne-waza.

In the 2022 edition, held in the United Arab Emirates, the country won seven medals, one gold by Eliane Caio, two silver by Ruth Baltazar and Erick Benson.

Aliria Mendes, Hélio Caio, Marcelina Caliqui and Sivi François won a Bronze medal each.
