Africa-Press – Angola. The national pre-selection of fights starts this Thursday, in Luanda, its preparation with a view to participating in the African Championship in both sexes, to be disputed from 16 to 21 May in Tunisia.

Speaking today, Wednesday, the president of the Angolan Federation of the sport (FALUTAS), Mvemba André, indicated that the group is made up of 123 athletes, including 15 cadets, 14 juniors and 94 seniors in the Greco-Roman modalities, grappling, Olympic wrestling and women’s wrestling.

Among those called up, the 82 kg Greco-Roman fighters stand out, namely Francisco Cadima (Luanda), Baptista Pacheco (Uíge) and in the 87 kg with Jonas Simão who won the only bronze in the last presence in 2022 in Morocco.

The selection for the competition, taking place in the city of Tunis, will be made up of 30 athletes, after screening.

This will be Angola’s eighth participation in the event, after its debut in 2007.
