Africa-Press – Angola. Five vessels were delivered by Petromar last week to three artisanal fishing cooperatives made up mostly of women in the municipality of Ambriz, province of Bengo.

Petromar, an Angolan company dedicated to the construction and installation of offshore platforms and subsea structures, offshore cranes, construction of equipment and structures in deep water and oil, construction of gas facilities and maintenance of offshore petroleum gas, made this donation. with the aim of helping cooperatives to improve the work they provide and, with that, help to improve the citizens’ standard of living.

In addition to boats, the cooperatives Nsala Wafutuka, Ponta and Jovens Unidos received fishing kits, essentially consisting of vests and nets, among other useful tools for fishing. At the time of delivery, the director general of Petromar, Frederico Hents, said that the vessels can help cooperatives to grow, with increased levels of capture.

The deputy administrator for the Financial Area of ​​Ambriz, Hélio Evandro Ferreira, appreciated the gesture, understanding that “the new inputs will allow the municipality to develop, since fishing is one of the strongest sectors of the municipality’s economy”. administrator reinforced that with the means received, “we can start to improve the lives of families and reduce poverty rates in the municipality”.
