According to Minister Dionísio da Fonseca, the job opportunities generated by FMCA’2025 include painting, masonry, carpentry, decoration, electronics and telecommunications, plastering, kitchen work, stevedoring, cleaning, and other services.

The Minister of Territorial Administration praised the fact that the beneficiaries of these seasonal jobs are young people who see the fair as an opportunity to apply their skills and earn an income.

“In just under a week, they and they have transformed this place that welcomes us into a national shop window of local potentials,” praised the ruler, noting that at this moment the data point to more than three thousand temporary jobs created.

Therefore, he stressed that the fair is an invitation to investment, creativity and entrepreneurship, because, in their view, companies find a stage there to establish partnerships that generate jobs, improve infrastructure and drive the well-being of communities.

Addressing the holder of the Executive Power, the Minister of Administration of the Territory pointed out that the realization of this 5th edition of the Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola is the reaffirmation that “agriculture is the economic engine of our communities”.

‘The second finding is that youth is the energy it transforms,’ he said, noting that this edition of FMCA was mounted by young painters, masons, carpenters, decorators, electronics and telecommunications technicians, graduates, among others.

‘Your presence, Mr. President, is an unambiguous demonstration of the encouragement of local development and consideration by these collaborators who came out of the most distant places of our vast national territory to present their potential at this Angolan Nation Fair,’ he said.

It also highlighted as positive the fact that it was the first time that the 21 provinces and 326 municipalities of the new political-administrative division (DPA) are at this fair.

Deep down, he said, no one wanted to be left behind. Each city and each city, new or old, type A or type, and, represented here, wants to display its face, culture, resources and economic potential.

Hotel chain

The Minister of Territorial Administration also expressed satisfaction with the boost that the 5th edition of FMCA brought to the local economy.

It found that in the municipalities on the coast of the province, namely Lobito, Catumbela, Benguela, Navegantes and Baía Farta, the hotel network reached an occupancy rate of 100 percent.

“There was a frantic demand for temporary accommodation and catering services, which has led to an increase in family income,” he said, estimating that about 25 thousand people will visit the 5th edition of FMCA.

More than an exhibition event, he maintained that the fair is a platform for dialogue and cooperation, where municipal development is affirmed as a pillar for the construction of a more inclusive, prosperous and sustainable Angola.

In this way, he is convinced that the FMCA thus assumes the status of an instrument for fostering the national economy and promoting employability at the local level.

The governor invited all visitors to explore, learn and observe the people, letting himself be enchanted by the richness and cultural diversity of every corner of Angola.

He also challenged the stallholders to also take advantage of the investment opportunities that each municipality has.

“May this be a memorable edition. Made up of good contacts, small and large businesses and, above all, a fair of hope for the future”, concluded the Minister of Territorial Administration, the promoter of the event in partnership with the Arena Group.

Municipalities at the “forefront of development”

For his part, the provincial governor of Benguela stressed the decisive role of municipalities on the “front line of development”, with a view to combating persistent historical inequalities and social vulnerabilities.

Before the President of the Republic and other entities of the state government apparatus at central and local levels, Manuel Nunes Júnior said that this event reinforces the commitment to the ideal of a developed Angola “and deeply committed to the dignity of the life of its citizens, wherever they are”.

And he admitted that he was proud that the city of Benguela received the 2025 edition of FMCA with humility and confidence in a prosperous future, welcoming the entire country in a collective embrace around local government and the communities that give soul and meaning to the national project.

He also evoked the profound transformations that Angola is going through, adding that the country is making progress in deepening reforms for administrative deconcentration and decentralization.

“We invest more and more in the technical training of local governments. These structural reforms have the decisive impetus of the President of the Republic, who has been able to interpret the signs of the times and lead Angola destinies along the path of modernization and progress,” he praised.

Given the “enormous potential” of Benguela, the governor emphasized that the province does not consider itself only the host of this event, on the contrary, it is an active and determined part of the success of this entire process.
