Africa-Press – Angola. The National Front for the Liberation of Angola (FNLA) delivers its candidacy for the general elections of August 24 to the Constitutional Court on Thursday(, in Luanda. but for reasons of organization of the processes, it was left for today.
The secretary general of the FNLA, Aguiar Laurindo, told Jornal de Angola that the rescheduling was due to a better preparation and arrangement of all the documentation collected from the militants spread across the country.
For his part, the candidate’s representative, João Roberto Soki, revealed that around 20,000 signatures will be delivered to the Constitutional Court, although 30,000 have been collected. The FNLA’s National Secretary for Political Affairs also assured that President Nimi a Simbi is the head of the list, while Benjamim Manuel da Silva is the candidate for Vice-President of the Republic. The party founded by Holden Roberto participates in elections from the democratic opening of Angola in 1992 to the last ones held in 2017.
