Africa-Press – Angola. Friends and relatives of the former Minister of Construction and Public Works Brito Júnior keep in their memory the one who for them represents a grateful and conciliatory figure.
Arlindo Vaz da Conceição, who had a family affinity with the deceased (he was not contemporary, as we wrongly wrote in yesterday’s edition), highlighted Brito Júnior as an unparalleled man, who played prominent roles in the country. “His death constituted an irreparable loss,” he defended.
Brito Júnior, who was also a journalist, died last Friday, due to illness, and was buried the day before yesterday, in the Sant’Ana cemetery, in an atmosphere of deep consternation.
João Carlos, neighbor of the deceased, said, at the funeral ceremony, that he recognized in the figure of Brito Júnior unique characteristics of an honest man, who knew how to preserve and transmit values to his children.
“He was the loving, polite man and friend of his friends”, he stressed.
Friends and fellow members of the church also highlighted the contribution of Brito Júnior, as a man committed to the Central United Methodist Church of Luanda. “He was a person dedicated to social causes,” they recalled.
Reverend Vladimir Agostinho, president of the General Council for the Program and Projects of the United Methodist Church of Angola, remembers Brito Júnior as a man dedicated to the church, with whom he shared moments and contributed a lot to the causes of the religious congregation.
