Africa-Press – Angola. Three thousand and eighty-five liters of fuel, which were destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were seized, during the long weekend, by the National Police in the province of Lunda Norte, due to attempted smuggling.
These are 2,268 liters of gasoline and 800 liters of diesel, seized at the border posts in Cuango, Chitato de Lucapa.
The information was provided this Monday by the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Lunda Norte, Walter Pereira, highlighting that the fuel seized during the “Lussolo” operation will be handed over to the General Tax Administration, as the faithful custodian.
Without revealing the number of citizens involved in the crime, he made it known that they were detained and will be sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, for the formalization of the accusation.
On the other hand, he reported that during the long weekend, 21 crimes were recorded, which resulted in the arrest of 23 citizens allegedly involved in sexual violence against minors, robbery and theft.
The official appealed to the population to continue collaborating with defense and security bodies in the fight against crime, especially illegal immigration, trafficking of minors and diamonds.
