Ginga Savimbi Leaves UNITA - "Galo Negro" Board Confirms Departure

Africa-Press – Angola. The daughter of UNITA’s founder, Luyana Ginga Sakaita Savimbi, has left the main opposition party, due to alleged marginalization by the organization’s current leadership, led by Adalberto Costa Júnior.

Ginga Savimbi, according to information circulated on social media, says that he made this decision following the appointment of MP Irina Diniz to the position of deputy secretary of UNITA in Luanda, as he considers that she “does not have a sufficiently consolidated track record within the party for this appointment”.

“I respect MP Irina Diniz, but I believe that she does not yet have a sufficiently consolidated career within the party for this nomination”, he said, stressing that Savimbi’s children were born in UNITA but were put aside.

UNITA’s national secretary for communications and marketing, Evaldo Evangelista, confirmed the departure of Savimbi’s daughter, stressing that the party’s leadership received a letter from activist Luyana Ginga Sakaita Savimbi, informing them of the decision she had made.

In your opinion, the citizen is free to make the decision now announced by her.

“The country is facing serious problems and we are not going to be distracted by small things,” he said.

Unconfirmed information says that Luyana Ginga Sakaita Savimbi and some other family members will join the PRA-JÁ Servir Angola party, led by Abel Chivukuvuku.
