Africa-Press – Angola. The historical importance of the municipality of Golungo-Alto in the emergence and structural growth of the MPLA, as a political force that led the National Liberation Struggle processes, was highlighted, in the village with the same name, by the provincial secretary of the “comrades” party in Kwanza-Norte, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.
The politician, who was speaking during the mass act, as part of the opening of the pre-campaign in Cuanza-Norte, said that the inhabitants of Golungo-Alto have always been on the side of the MPLA, from the beginnings of the Struggle for National Independence to the reach of the Peace in 2002.
Adriano Mendes de Carvalho highlighted the figures of Cónego Manuel das Neves, Manuel Pedro Pacavira, Lopo do Nascimento, António Jacinto and other local figures, who, from a young age, dedicated themselves to the cause of the national liberation struggle, in favor of an independent Angola , prosperous and democratic.
Golungo-Alto, he said, is traditionally the land of the MPLA, having advanced that the realization of the aforementioned mass act, held on Saturday, marks the triumphal path of that association, for the next general elections. “I am confident, with your active participation, in a landslide victory for the MPLA in the next general elections”, emphasized the politician. “Before the call for elections this year, some thought that our president was afraid to face the opposition, but the facts today prove otherwise,” he said. “Our president is prepared for victory.” The MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Cuanza-Norte made it known that the challenges caused by the economic crisis and by Co-vid-19, which, in his opinion, slowed down, at a certain moment, the Executive’s actions, made the MPLA stronger , with its president demonstrating management skills and a sense of leadership. “This is proved by the way in which the Executive recovered from the situation and implemented a series of social projects across the country”, stressed the party leader.
These actions, he said, “are also visible here, in Golungo-Alto, where we have improved the basic social conditions of the local populations”.
He added that they are directly related to structuring projects for the supply of drinking water to the inhabitants of the Golungo-Alto headquarters and surroundings.
First Secretary Adriano Mendes de Carvalho highlighted the importance of transmitting messages of hope to the people, without neglecting to create habits of civic and peaceful coexistence of MPLA militants, in order to achieve an Angola that is increasingly democratic and civilized for all.
