Government Announces Privatization of Hotels in the IU and Bina Chains

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Government announced that it will privatize eight hotel units of the IU and Bina chains, through a limited tender with prior qualification, within the scope of the Privatization Program (ProPriv) 2023-2026.

According to the Angolan Institute for the Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE), the privatization of the aforementioned hotel units, located in the provinces of Bengo, Zaire, Lunda Sul, Namibe and Uíje, was authorized by presidential order.

The hotels will be privatized in the form of concession of the right to operate and manage, through a limited competition with prior qualification, says the Institute.

IGAPE also announced, in a statement, that 15 hotels under construction in the IKA and IU chain will now fall under its jurisdiction and that it will seek strategic partnerships to complete the works, redefine their use and add value to the assets.

The units under construction are located in the Angolan provinces of Bengo, Moxico, Malanje, Zaire, Cuanza Norte, Cunene, Uíje and Benguela.

ProPriv registers assets from the banking, insurance, telecommunications, industry, social communication, agriculture, catering and other sectors.
