Superior Council Assesses Working Conditions in the Courts of the Districts of Viana and Belas

Africa-Press – Angola. The Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ) visited the support units for guarantor judges in the District Courts of Viana and Belas, to assess working conditions. According to a note from the CSMJ, the initiative is part of the “Guarantee Judge Week”, celebrated yesterday, and seeks to improve the working conditions of the magistrates responsible for ensuring respect for the rights of those under investigation in the initial phase of legal proceedings.

According to the member and acting president of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, Fernando Gomes, the main difficulties are being overcome and, currently, there are minimum conditions for the exercise of the function.

During the visit, the concerns raised by the local teams were highlighted, among which were the need, namely, for interrogation rooms, means of transport for the mobility of judges and improvements in the processing of documents.The magistrates present highlighted that the actions of the guarantee judges have generated a positive impact, mainly in reducing procedural delays and speeding up legal procedures.
