Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, announced Friday, the resumption of work on the multipurpose pavilion in the municipality of Chitato, in 2023.
The minister made this announcement during the end-of-year greeting ceremony, underlining that the conclusion of the pavilion will boost the massification of sport in the province.
Without going into details about the restart date and execution period, he said that it was a project that would be financed by the Central Government.
The pavilion works are budgeted at 18 million US dollars, it is located in an area of 6,464 square meters, in the urban district of Mussungue, close to the centrality of Dundo.
Until the stoppage of the contract, in 2016, the works had a physical execution in the order of 55 percent.
It is a pavilion with three floors, designed to accommodate 3,700 spectators (3,070) with an arena, two boxes, press area, a car park for 2,100 vehicles, two changing rooms and a press conference room.
USD 11 million has already been paid until the work stops.
This payment enabled the execution of the structure, stands, game court, changing rooms, cabins, press rooms, paving the access road to the pavilion and stores.
The pillars, part of the masonry, metallic structure, fire-fighting network, electrical network, sewers, car park, trailer, application of the multipurpose floor and ceiling remain to be completed.
The province of Lunda Norte has five tennis courts, 14 football fields, with emphasis on the Sagrada Esperança Stadium with capacity for seven thousand spectators and six multi-sports squads.
