Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Executive has authorized the allocation of 14,729,849,479 kwanzas for the recovery, completion, and operationalization of the Humbe-Quiteve Livestock Management Rehabilitation Project, in the municipality of Humbe, Cunene Province.
The respective authorization is contained in Presidential Order No. 191/25 of August 4, which formalizes the opening of the Simplified Contracting procedure, based on the material criteria, for the execution of the project.
According to this decree, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry is delegated the authority, with the power to subdelegate, for the implementation of decision-making acts and supervisory approval, and the verification of the validity and legality of all acts within the scope of said procedure, including the execution and signing of the contract.
The same Order also authorizes the registration of this Project in the 2025 State Budget/PIP, replacing the Waco-Kungo Irrigated Perimeter Rehabilitation Project (Mutumbo), in the province of Cuanza-Sul.
The document adds that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s structural actions aim to achieve food security through the implementation of resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agri-food systems.
In addition, it also aims to leverage the potential of existing infrastructure, whose restoration and operationalization are necessary and urgent, aiming to accelerate this process, aimed at generating jobs, increasing agricultural, livestock, and forestry production, and increasing the income of small, medium, and large producers.
