Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce clarified on Thursday that the exclusion regime set out in Article 3 of Executive Decree No. 7/26 of 9 January applies only to industrial units that use ferrous and non-ferrous metals as raw materials within their respective industrial processes.
According to a press release on Thursday, the Ministry explains that exclusivity must be documented.
It adds that materials such as paper, plastic, wood, rubber and glass, which do not fall within the legal definition of ferrous or non-ferrous metals, are not covered by the aforementioned Decree.
The note also reaffirms the Ministry’s commitment to legality, transparency and institutional responsibility in order to consolidate citizens’ trust in state institutions, particularly among economic operators.
The note follows doubts arising from the interpretation of Executive Decree No. 7/26 of 9 January, which prohibits weighing facilities for ferrous and non-ferrous materials, particularly with regard to the scope of the exclusion regime.
