Africa-Press – Angola. A tender for the signing of the contract for the design, construction, operation and commercial management of the Arimba and Lombe logistics platforms in the provinces of Huíla and Malanje was launched this Wednesday by the Angolan Government.

According to a press release from the Regulatory Agency for Cargo and Logistics Certification of Angola (ARCCLA), this is the fourth and fifth tender limited by prior qualification that will allow the exploitation and commercial management of logistics platforms for a period of 30 years.

According to the document, the launch of this tender follows that which already took place for the concession of the logistics platforms in Luvo (Zaire), Soyo (Zaire) and Luau (Moxico).

It informs that the aforementioned infrastructures are in the same package as the six logistics platforms of the first phase of implementation of the National Network of Logistics Platforms (RNPL).

The note states that it is ARCCLA’s responsibility to organize and monitor the processes for granting Logistic Platforms (PL), to prepare the procedural parts based on the applicable legislation within the framework of the dynamization of the National Network of Logistic Platforms.

About logistics platforms _

The Arimba Logistics Platform (Huíla) is located 35 kilometers (Km) from the city of Lubango, is connected to the National Road (EN) 280, and in its border area are the provincial capitals of Benguela (257 Km), Huambo (316 Km) and Namibe (171).

In terms of logistical infrastructure, the Arimba PL will be able to benefit from the ports of Namibe and Lobito, the Moçâmedes and Benguela Railways, in addition to the airports in Catumbela and Namibe.

The Lomba Logistics Platform is located in the central area of ​​Malanje, benefits from the Luanda Railway, a strategic logistics infrastructure, as a connection point with international markets through the Port of Luanda.

The Lombe station, on the Luanda Railway line, is about 4 km from Malanje, 27 km from Malanje airport and 24 km from National Road 140.

In addition to these logistical facilities there are roads, the most important being the EN-230, which connects the commune of Pungo-Andongo to the village of Capanda.
