Africa-Press – Angola. The government of the province of Cabinda has recommended, for this year, initiatives aimed at preserving the cultural heritage, within the framework of the National Development Plan for the five-year period, 2023/2027.

The provincial government, in a note sent to press, points to the conservation, preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage as basic elements that contribute to the consolidation and organization of the cultural identity of a people.

The message also reads that the government is implementing actions to preserve cultural patriotism, within the scope of public development policies and territorial management.

The provincial government states that it is necessary to conserve and enhance the different elements of cultural identity, such as language, dances, songs, clothing, cuisine, traditional childhood games and other practices.

In this mission, the cultural sector must rely on anthropologists, ethnologists, historians, sociologists and other specialists from different fields of knowledge about social reality to investigate and make the research product available to all.

The provincial government recommends that everyone reflect on the date and know how to value its origins, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of the artistic potential of the Angolan people, particularly those of Cabinda, in its most varied manifestations.

The province of Cabinda has the Bakama as its cultural mascot and also counts as historical and cultural sites the Regional Museum of Cabinda, Municipal Library, Cemetery of Nobles, S.Tiago Maior Church of Lândana, Monument of the Signing of the Treaty of Simulambuco, the place of Concentration of Slaves from Chinfuca and others.
