Government reaffirms commitment to the social reintegration of women

Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor of Cuanza Sul for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Emília Tchninawalile, reaffirmed, this Saturday, in Porto Amboim, the commitment to the reintegration of women into society.

Speaking at the opening of the provincial act of the March Women’s Day which takes place under the motto “the active participation of women in information technologies, towards social prosperity”, he highlighted that 52 percent of the population of Cuanza Sul is made up of women.

In this sense, women’s political and social empowerment is the key to raising women to a new status in all areas of development, to put an end to poverty, illiteracy, low levels of education, violence, among other evils.

In a message from the women, Domingas Lopes Aguiar stated that empowering women means investing in the growth and socio-economic development of the family, society and the country.

He called for the construction of more female training centres, reinforcing the punishment of all types of violence against women so that rights are always safeguarded, with dignity, security and free exclusion prevailing.

The opening of the March Woman Day was marked by speeches by the municipal administrator of Porto Amboim, Maria Sumano, by the director of the provincial office for social action, family and gender equality, Marta Muhongo, which converged on the need to reinforce social reintegration actions.

Women linked to culture, sport, politics, religion, among other segments of society, participated in the act.
