The deputy governor for technical services and infrastructure of Lunda Norte, Domingos Dala, said this Saturday that the Government has been honoring the fighters for National Independence, with the implementation of public policies aimed at sustainable development, the promotion justice and social inclusion.
Speaking to the press, after laying a wreath on the bust of the first President of the Republic, Agostinho Neto, on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of National Independence, the official said that the social, economic, political and cultural achievements achieved in the last 48 years, represent the fighting capacity and resilience of the Angolan people, inspired by the heroes of “Dipanda”.
According to Domingos Dala, Lunda Norte, for example, recorded notable growth in the areas of Education, Health, Energy, Transport, Housing and communication routes.
He highlighted the construction of the Mussungue Centrality, which allowed the expansion of the headquarters of the municipality of Chitato and the realization of the dream of owning a home for many young people.
He added that the fact that nine of the province’s ten municipalities are connected by road allows the Government to bring basic social services closer to the population, as well as contributing to the fight against rural exodus.
He highlighted that as a result of national independence, peace, combined with investments from the Executive, Lunda Norte was one of the first provinces in Eastern Angola to build a University, preventing the population from traveling to other parts of the country for academic advancement.
Among the gains, the official highlighted the rehabilitation of Kamaquenzo airport, the construction of more than two schools, more than 100 health units, the ongoing rehabilitation of the Luachimo hydroelectric dam, the national roads 180, 225, 230, which connect the three privileges from the East to the coast, among others.
On the occasion, he appealed to the population to preserve the achievements achieved, “because in this way we will be honoring our heroes and continue to dream big”. He stressed.
