Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Government of Cuanza Norte will resume this year the construction of social infrastructures, paralyzed since 2013, announced the first provincial secretary of the MPLA, Pedro Makita.
According to the politician, the local government has a budget for 2023 that is guided by the paralyzed works and those that are in progress.
The asphalting works on the road network between the municipalities of Samba Caju, Banga, Quiculungo and Bolongongo, which started in July 2017, are paralyzed.
The contract, whose execution period was 15 months, is budgeted at eleven billion, 623 million, 865 thousand, 305 kwanzas and 20 cents.
The 90.5 kilometer section consists of a package of three lots: Samba Caju/Uiangombe/Banga, with a 46 kilometer route, Banga/Quiculungo, with a length of 35.5 kilometers, and Quiculungo/Bolongongo, with nine and a half kilometers .
The work has a transverse profile 10 meters wide, two lanes of 3.5 meters each and two meters of shoulder. It includes the construction of 50 hydraulic crossings and seven bridges between 10 and 25 meters in length, in addition to complementary and signaling works.
The works have a physical execution in the order of 63 percent and 40 percent corresponding to four billion, 649 million, 546 thousand and 122 kwanzas of physical execution.
Getting to the three municipalities has been a big problem for the population, especially during the rainy season.
The works of the medium Institute of Camuaxi, surroundings of Ndalatando, the centrality of Cazengo, among other infrastructures, are also paralyzed.
Pedro Makita said at the end of a two-day aid and control visit to the municipal committees of Banga, Bolongongo and Kiculungo, informed that the party is in control of the concerns of the population in the province, embodied in the degradation of access routes, unemployment, need for support for agricultural production, among others.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continue to respond to citizens’ complaints through the construction of basic social equipment, stating that the MPLA thanks the Angolan people for the opportunity and confidence given in the 2022 elections, to continue solving the people’s problems.
During the visit, the first secretary of the MPLA verified the level of organization of the party’s basic structures, as well as listened to the main concerns of militants, sympathizers and friends of the party and the population in general.
