Government wants citizens to be involved in the fight against disorderly sales

Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the province of Lunda-Sul, Daniel Neto, called, this Wednesday, in Saurimo, for greater involvement of citizens in the fight against disorderly sales.

The government official made this appeal at the opening of the 1st ordinary session of the Provincial Community Consultation Council, having highlighted the importance of involving residents in finding solutions to combat disorganized sales in the four municipalities of the province, in particular Saurimo.

He said that municipal administrators and council members should discourage citizens from engaging in such practices.

“Currently, the main arteries of the city of Saurimo are seeing the sale of products in inappropriate places, with emphasis on the placement of carpentry shops, trailers, fuel sales points, open-air markets, situations that have contributed to the city’s lack of character” , he highlighted.

Daniel Neto made it known that the Government has designed programs aimed at improving the image of the city, which is why it is necessary for councilors to intervene and raise awareness in their communities.

According to the governor, with the aforementioned program, which hopes to involve citizens, the province’s authorities intend to put an end to disorderly street vending and contribute to a healthy environment.

The ordinary session of the Provincial Community Consultation Council will analyze issues linked to proliferation and disorganized sales in inappropriate locations in cities and towns, the emergence and construction of warehouses in the main areas of Saurimo, the requalification and improvement of the Candembe market, as well as on the 2024 general Census and the Integrated Program to Combat Hunger and Poverty.

Participants will also be informed about the General State Budget (OGE 2024), the electrification process of the Conduril and Luar neighborhoods and the progress of works on Estrada Nacional 240, towards Biula/Muconda.
