Africa-Press – Angola. The Government has approved the financing for the construction of the future centrality of Ndalatando (provincial capital), with 2,000 apartments, announced this Tuesday, the provincial governor, Pedro Makita Armando Júlia.
The project, whose steps to start work are underway, will be built in Quilômetro 11, on the outskirts of Ndalatando.
The official, who was speaking at the act alluding to the 4th of April (Day of Peace and National Reconciliation), also announced the inauguration, at the end of the current year, of 214 apartments under construction since 2017, in the city of Ndalatando, intended to accommodate, above all, young people and civil servants.
The province’s housing deficit, he said, is also being reversed with the construction, in Quilômetro 11, of 450 social houses, within the framework of a central project and at an advanced stage of execution, as a result of 21 years of peace and the government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of citizens.
In another sense, Pedro Makita expressed the openness of his portfolio in cooperating with private investors in the construction sector, interested in implementing projects at local level, aiming to fill the housing deficit that the province is struggling with.
He said it was a way to increase the supply of housing for families, in different standards and prices.
In order to attract the aforementioned investments, above all, to the interior of the province, the governor said that several rehabilitation works are underway on intermunicipal roads, which will facilitate the mobility of people and goods, mainly between the municipalities of Golungo-Alto and Ngonguembo and between Samba Caju, Banga, Quiculungo and Bolongongo, which should be completed soon.
In the act led by the governor, Pedro Makita Júlia, held at the Ndalatando cinema under the motto “21 years of peace, building a better Angola”, participated provincial government entities, representatives of political parties, deputies for the provincial cycle, traditional authorities, religious leaders , traditional and popular authorities.
The day Peace was achieved was also marked by several inaugurations, including four water distribution subsystems in various locations in the municipality of Lucala, an electricity subsystem in Golungo Alto and a road bridge in Cambambe.
