Africa-Press – Angola. The Icolo & Bengo provincial governor, Auzílio Jacob, appealed to the population to go to the Sanctuary of Muxima on April 19th to joyfully welcome the Holy Father and pray the rosary with him.

The governor made this statement on the sidelines of the reopening of a school in the municipality of Calumbo, where he informed that conditions of electricity, water and access roads have been created to receive all Catholic pilgrims and others in Muxima.

On the other hand, he informed that the place where the Mass of Pope Leo XIV will take place is undergoing requalification works to give a new image to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Muxima.

Auzílio Jacob reassured the devotees, as the sanctuary has space to accommodate more than 130,000 pilgrims.

Pope Leo XIV will visit Angola from the 18th to the 21st of the current month, and, in addition to the provinces of Luanda and Icolo & Bengo, he is to travel to the province of Lunda-Sul, as well as hold state meetings and meetings with bishops, clergy, catechists and the elderly.
