Africa-Press – Angola. With 132 rooms, three of which are adapted for people with reduced mobility, the Flow Hotel was officially opened on Friday (23), in Benguela, in a bet by the company OnTour.
Inaugurated by the provincial governor of Benguela, Luís Nunes, the three-star hotel generated 80 direct jobs and 140 indirect jobs, the result of an investment of around three billion kwanzas in its remodeling and equipping.
With privatized management for a period of 12 years, after a public tender launched by the State Asset and Participation Management Institute (IGAPE), in July 2021, the infrastructure is one of three hotel units in the provinces’ Infotur network. of Benguela, Huíla and Namibe, and would be used in the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010).
Of the three hotels in the Infotur network, the one in Benguela, managed by OnTour – Gestão de Serviços Hoteleiros, owned by the Omatapalo group, SA, is the last to come into operation, after the Lubango (Huíla) unit, with 132 rooms, and of Namibe, with 126 rooms, also privatized.
Speaking to journalists, the deputy director of Flow Hotel, Agostinho Julante, highlighted the benefits of operating and managing the hotel unit for the State, within the scope of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV).
According to the person responsible, the State will benefit from the financial compensation, since the management company will have to pay a certain amount monthly, within the scope of the management contract.
Agostinho Julante, explaining that the exploration includes the option to purchase, said that the building underwent renovation and was equipped with modern equipment, to offer an excellent service.
It also ensured that employees underwent three-month training by a professor from the Estoril Hotel and Tourism School, in Portugal, whose “know-how” will contribute to offering a quality level of service.
However, he admits that the easy access to the city center of Benguela and Catumbela airport makes the Flow Hotel strategic for boosting business and leisure tourism.
As for the daily rate, he said that prices range from 39 thousand to 75 thousand kwanzas, prices that he considers to be different in the market.
Accessibility
The director of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Rosália Tchitale, was enthusiastic about the existence of three rooms adapted to receive people with reduced physical mobility, an example that, in her opinion, should be followed by other units.
In terms of impact, he made it known that, with the opening of this unit, Benguela now offers more than two thousand rooms to accommodate tourists in good conditions.
He assured that the Government will continue to encourage businesspeople to develop the hotel sector, to meet the demand of tourists, especially in periods of greater demand.
Rosália Tchitale believes that, due to its size and refinement, the Flow Hotel is the new trend in Benguela and will attract more tourists, positioning the region as the country’s second tourist destination, after Luanda.
Structure
In addition to a modern restaurant, the Flow Hotel, with ground floor and two floors, overlooking the sea, has a leisure space with an adult swimming pool, terrace, gym and a car park with capacity for 200 vehicles.
To meet the demand for conventions, the hotel offers three meeting rooms and a conference room with capacity for 200 seats, a coworking space and a business center.
