Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, defended the urgent rehabilitation of communication routes, in the municipalities of Banga, Bologongo and Quiculungo, to allow the flow of agricultural production.

The governor, who was speaking to the press, Friday, at the end of a tour of the municipalities of Banga, Bologongo and Quiculungo, pointed out that the rehabilitation of the roads will boost the economy of these potentially agricultural locations.

For the provincial official, although the Executive already foresees the rehabilitation of these roads, urgent intervention is necessary so that the population can transport products from the countryside to the cities.

He also defended the need for clear policies to develop agriculture, including working to attract private investment to the sector, taking into account the potential of the three municipalities.

He also recommended the organization of the population into associations to better allocate financing and meet their needs.

João Diogo Gaspar also pointed out, among the policies, better organization of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty and allocating part of the resources to peasant families.

For the governor, if peasant families are empowered, they will produce more for domestic consumption and export.

He made it known that the three municipalities also faced problems in the areas of health, education, electricity supply and drinking water.

He indicated that the issue of education was outdated with the admission to public examinations of more than three thousand young people who will be distributed across all municipalities in the province.

Regarding the health sector, he reported that there is a need to build more health units, as well as more work to prevent malaria, the main disease in the three regions.

The person in charge defended the creation of policies so that the primary health network works.

Another concern in the three municipalities, he continued, has to do with the public transport network, which is inoperative, but the Provincial Government will launch a public tender for the management of 14 buses.

He asked for the participation of businesspeople from the three municipalities in this competition to meet the mobility needs of the population.

João Diogo Gaspar visited the three municipalities to learn about the reality of these districts. The visit also served to present it to the population.
