Africa-Press – Angola. The National Senior Women’s Handball Team has been working since Monday in the city of El-Kom-Menoufia, north of Cairo, as part of the preparation for the 26th edition of the Women’s World Cup, to be played on 30 November on December 17th in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
The national team’s training camp, in Egypt, will run until March 5th, during which it will play two friendlies with the Egyptian national team.
The two matches are part of the first week of the International Handball Federation (IHF), aimed at preparing for the World Cup in the category, and takes place at the initiative of the Egyptian Federation of the sport.
The entourage, headed by the technical director of the Handball Federation, Divaldo Ângelo, is made up of 23 elements, of which 16 are athletes.
The list includes Chelcia Gabriel, Dolores do Rosário, Estefânia Venâncio, Helena Paulo, Helena de Sousa, Isabel Guialo, Juliana Machado, Liliane Mário, Marcela Tati, Márcia Manuel, Marília Quizelete, Natália Fonseca and Stélvia Pascoal, Teresa Almeida, Vilma Chissola and Suzete Cazanga.
It is recalled that the “Pearls” won, in November 2022, in Dakar (Senegal), the 15th continental title during the 25th African Championship.
In history, Angola also obtained a second position and two third places. They lost only one final, in 1991, in the city of Cairo.
