Africa-Press – Angola. Two literary works were presented this Monday, in the city of Saurimo, Lunda Sul province, as part of the National Hero’s Day festivities, celebrated on the 17th of this month.

These are the books “The history of the Evangelical Church of the Brothers in Angola IEIA- Sassamba” and “Zambi KanaKanjisa Wanga Tahi Yimbanda ni Aprofeta Akwonga”, the latter in the national language Cokwe, both by the writer of Zebedeu Deque.

According to the author, the first work has 68 pages, tells the story of the implementation of the Evangelical Church of the Brothers in Angola (IEIEA) and aims to encourage young people to strive for dialogue, social harmony and dissemination of the Gospel.

The second work, with 91 pages, has the power to inhibit the use of “diviners, kimbandeiros and false prophets”, in solving health problems, among other practices that endanger healthy social coexistence.

The first work has an initial print run of 100 copies, while the second has a thousand. They will be sold in the provinces of Luanda, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Moxico, Bié and Huambo.

72 years old, Zebedeu Deque was born in the city of Saurimo, province of Lunda Sul, is a pastor at the IEIA and participated in the revision of the Cokwé Bible in 1996. He has been part of the IEIA’s Revision Committee for the Directing Documents since 2018.

National Hero Day, celebrated on September 17th, is a tribute to the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto. He proclaimed the country’s independence on November 11, 1975.
