Africa-Press – Angola. The first phase of the centrality of Saurimo (Lunda Sul), with 212 apartments, will be completed in February 2024, during which the homes will be delivered to the population of this province, announced this Friday, the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos.
The government official, who was speaking to the press at the end of the working visit carried out in that province, assured that the respective houses are already completed, with additional infrastructure still to be completed.
On the occasion, the minister also said that the sector is evaluating the technical and financial conditions, with a view to creating conditions for the launch of the 2nd phase of this centrality, in the first quarter of 2024.
Located in the Nhama neighborhood, the Saurimo center, whose works began in 2017, is being built in an area of 7.35 hectares and includes the construction of three thousand residences, divided into four phases, over a period of 15 months.
In the field of road infrastructure, Carlos dos Santos said that the sector is working so that the National Road 230, in the Saurimo/Muconda/Luau section, is also intervened in 2024.
He also mentioned that technical issues are currently being prepared to begin with the works that call for the Ministry’s prompt intervention, with small emergency intervention actions being carried out in December.
