Africa-Press – Angola. Sixty-two requests for New Year’s Eve festivities have been legalized in Huambo province, by the local Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports office, press learned this Friday.
The head of this institution in Huambo, Jeremias Piedad Chissanga, who provided the information, said that there were 31 licenses to carry out New Year’s Eve activities in the municipality of Huambo, Caála (11), Bailundo (eight), while Cachiungo , Chicala-Cholohanga, Chinjenje, Ecunha, Longonjo and Ucuma, have two each.
informed that the request legalization process, which ended Thursday, reserves for today the verification, by technicians from the Culture office, in partnership with the National Police, of the conditions of the spaces scheduled for the events, to prevent possible cases of pollution sound and ensure the safety of participants.
Jeremias Piedade Chissanga said that only commercial parties need authorization from the Culture office, while family and religious festivals, although free, will be monitored, taking into account the maintenance of public order and tranquillity.
He explained that for the legalization of activities, carried out by a multi-sectoral commission, made up of the Culture and Health offices, the National Police and the municipal administrations, it was based on the recognition of the cultural promoter, licensing of the hall and the stamp of authorized tickets. by the General Tax Administration, to avoid tax evasion.
Without going into details, he added that party promoters only pay the cost of inspecting the space.
During the New Year’s Eve party, he explained that the State’s security and inspection bodies, including the National Police and the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Security (ANIESA), will be able to verify and suspend events outside the law.
For this reason, he called for the event’s promoters to comply with the law, given the need for a peaceful New Year’s Eve.
With a territorial extension of 35 thousand and 771 square kilometers, more than two million 600 thousand inhabitants live in the province of Huambo, spread over 11 municipalities: Bailundo and Caála, Cachiungo, Chicala-Cholohanga, Chinjenje, Ecunha, Huambo, Londuimbali, Longonjo, Mungo and Ucuma.
