Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland made a positive assessment on Saturday of the degree of physical execution of the construction works of the new Huambo Regional Military Hospital, which is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
João Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade”, who carried out a visit to check the progress of the works, was satisfied with the pace of work, highlighting the construction company’s commitment to complying with the contractual deadlines for the infrastructure that will serve the Forces Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
The minister said there are no constraints, because, at the moment, in terms of physical execution, the work is at 22 percent, while the financial execution is 17%, a fact that demonstrates, according to the minister, the good pace of the project..
The construction of two more regional military hospitals in the provinces of Lubango, Uíge and, in the future, two more, in Cuando Cubango and Saurimo, is expected soon, announced João Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade”, to maintain adequate medical and medication assistance for FAA personnel.
The head of the Health Services Directorate of the FAA General Staff, Lieutenant General Alberto de Almeida, explained that the hospital infrastructure under construction will be the second in terms of value, from surgical and medical specialties, to serve the rearguard of the provinces of Luena, Lubango and Saurimo.
The work located in the Kavongue neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, is budgeted at 102 million and 839 thousand 133 Euros, the structural project occupies a space of 17 thousand square meters, divided into 15 blocks, with capacity for 201 beds.
