Africa-Press – Angola. The Millennium Atlântico bank inaugurated, this Friday, the first digital branch in the province of Huambo, called the “Atlântico 24 Horas” space, with the aim of providing customers with an uninterrupted, autonomous, flexible and comfortable service.
The space, located at Rua Mariano Machado, in Cidade Baixa, was inaugurated by the administrator of the municipality of Huambo, Azevedo Manuel Cambiambia, in the presence of the executive directors of the Millennium Atlântico bank, João Mendonça, Mauro Neves and Isabel Espírito Santo, respectively.
Speaking to the press, after the inauguration, the director of the Mass Market segment of the banking institution, Pedro Rodrigues, said that the opening of these services in the province of Huambo, the second in the country, after Luanda, is included in the plan to expand means of payment and self-service format.
With this inauguration, according to the person in charge, customers will, above all, save time on their trips to the branch and make deposits that are immediately available in their accounts, quickly and safely, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
He referred to the bank’s commitment to the digital transformation of its business and to the constant improvement of the banking experience, which it makes available to the market, as it has achieved positive results with its commitment to self-service solutions, both in terms of coverage geographic location, or in terms of the efficiency with which banking operations are carried out by a growing number of users.
Pedro Rodrigues says this is a quick and agile process, available to serve the more than 60 thousand customers that Banco Millenium Atlântico has in the province of Huambo, allowing, in a first phase, the automatic deposit of notes of 500, 2000 and 5000 Kwanzas, respectively.
He added that the institution remains focused on the efficient use of technology and on carrying out innovative actions to digitize the banking activity, as well as on strengthening its teams and skills, above all, to maintain and guarantee customer confidence in the bank’s activity, in particular, and the financial sector in general.
In turn, the administrator of the municipality of Huambo, Azevedo Manuel Cambiambia, praised the initiative of the Millennium Atlântico bank in putting autonomous and uninterrupted deposit services in this region, as it represents a great asset to economic agents at the most varied levels, who will no longer keep the money at home, due to lack of service at the counters.
The 24-hour Atlântico space, with deposit machines and Automated Service Terminals (ATMs), provides various services, deposits, interbank transfers, without the need for any paper, proving to be a 100% digital service point.
In addition to Millennium Atlântico, the province of Huambo, located in the Central Plateau of Angola, has branches of BPC, BAI, BFA, BCI, BIC, Banco Sol, Banco Yetu, BCA, BNI, Finibanco, BCH, BTA, Standard Bank, distributed in the municipalities, Bailundo, Caála, Cachiungo, Ecunha, Huambo, Londuimbali, Mungo and Ucuma.
