Africa-Press – Angola. The inspector general of State Administration (IGAE), João Pinto, advised this Wednesday, in Ndalatando, Cuanza-Norte province, citizens to refrain from slanderous practices or insults, when claiming rights , under penalty of criminal liability.

Speaking to the press, as part of a two-day visit to Cuanza- Norte, João Pinto clarified that the complaint, despite being an act of citizenship, must be free from insult, slander or an attempt to discredit people and institutions.

The official expressed, on the other hand, concern about the constant vandalization of public property and called for the participation of all citizens in denouncing the perpetrators of these practices, considered unpatriotic.

He clarified that the tour to the interior provinces aims to reinforce the dissemination of the inspection law, legal and pedagogical education of citizens, within the framework of increasing the culture of denouncing acts of public administration, which conflict with the pursuit of the public interest.

According to João Pinto, IGAE is also committed to regulating internal activity, to adapt the institution’s functioning to the context of the institutional reform underway since 2020.

Upon arrival, João Pinto held a courtesy meeting with the governor of Cuanza- Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, followed by a visit to the facilities of the IGAE Provincial Delegation, which is currently benefiting from rehabilitation works to improve the functioning of services.

As part of the visit program to Cuanza-Norte, the general inspector of IGAE will give, on Thursday, a lecture on “Ethics and deontology in public administration”, addressed to staff from the Provincial Government, municipal administrations, the academic community and representatives of civil society.
