Africa-Press – Angola. The inspector general of State Administration (IGAE), Ângelo da Veiga Tavares, reiterated, on Tuesday, in Luanda, the continuity of inspection activity aimed at contributing to the improvement of good governance.

When speaking at the New Year’s greetings ceremony, the inspector general said that only in this way will it be possible for society to benefit from everything the State and Government provide, with the aim of seeing an improvement in the lives of Angolans.

The person responsible asked the inspectors for dedication, commitment and firmness, so that the work produces a positive impact on the management of “not only public affairs, but the entire State administration”.

Ângelo da Veiga Tavares also highlighted that, during the five months at the head of the General Inspection of State Administration, he has done everything to ensure that the Law and the motto “Rigor, Transparency and Control” are a fact.

With this, he made it known that the great concern is also related to improving working conditions, having highlighted that, very recently, the special career regime was approved, which is in the final stage of approval of the remuneration status.

“We have been creating premises that allow the training and qualification process of our staff to become a reality”, he said.

The IGAE inspector general also informed that, in the process of rigor, transparency and control, in the particular case of the debt certification process, some premises were presented, namely integrity, reliability and justice.

Without giving numbers, he highlighted that it was possible in December last year to save the State coffers hundreds of millions of kwanzas and other tens of millions of dollars.

“We will continue to work and we are certainly convinced that we will save the State hundreds of millions of kwanzas and many other dollars in the process of paying the internal debt”, he stated.

Ângelo da Veiga Tavares said that the inspection activity carried out by IGAE has made it possible to identify some irregularities in some public institutions and companies.
