Africa-Press – Angola. The Geological Institute of Angola (IGEO) and the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology IP (LNEG) of Portugal signed this Tuesday in Lisbon a memorandum of cooperation aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation between the institutions in the field of geosciences.
For Angola, the president of the Board of Directors of IGEO, Canga Xiaquivuila, signed, and for the Laboratory of Energy and Geology of Portugal, its president, Teresa Ponce de Leão.
The memorandum aims to establish bases for cooperation within the scope of collaboration and exchange in the technical-scientific areas of geosciences, such as the exchange of scientific information, carrying out scientific and technical missions, collaboration in geological research activities and scientific investigation.
It also provides for the joint organization of a symposium, conferences, workshops and seminars in both territories, consultancy and technical assistance to IGEO in matters related to geosciences and management of laboratory infrastructures, publication and scientific edition of joint works, whether nationally and international.
IGEO is a technical service supervised by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum and has its headquarters in the city of Kilamba.
