INACOM Rules out Price Increase for E-Communications Services

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM) clarifies that “no increase in the price of electronic communications services has been authorized” in the current year in the country, and that the information circulating on social media and some news sites is false.

In a note sent on Tuesday (July 8), INACOM, as the regulatory body for electronic communications in Angola, considers the information circulated about the “probable increase in the price of communications services in the country” to be false and out of context.

“The information circulated on digital platforms on Monday (7) about the increase in electronic communications services is not true, as the content shared makes improper use of newspaper clippings published in 2024,” the document clarifies.

The note adds that this information is intended to mislead public opinion, leading people to believe that there will be a new price adjustment in 2025.

In view of this situation, INACOM reassures the population and reaffirms that “it has not authorized any price increase for communication services”.

It reinforces that the institution will continue to closely monitor market developments and defend consumer interests, in strict compliance with the public interest, transparency and legality.

Therefore, INACOM urges citizens to consult only official sources and avoid sharing unverified information that could compromise public trust in communication services.
