Africa-Press – Angola. The number of companies certified, from January to September this year, by the National Institute of Small and Medium Enterprises, (INAPEM), in the province of Namibe, doubled, from 60, in 2022, to 123.

The majority of companies certified by INAPEM in the province of Namibe, in the period in question, are from the fishing sector and general trade, the head of the Department of Provincial Services, Adilson Hach, informed.

According to the person responsible, the increase in certified companies was due to the awareness campaign and the entry into operation of the new platform that allows INAPEM to certify companies in three days, unlike the previous period which took 30 days.

On the other hand, he said that the “Service Made in Angola”, created to encourage national production and consumption of national products was well received by producers, with 24 local companies joining with 36 products, highlighting fish derivatives such as preserves and flour and also ornamental rocks.

“The “Made in Angola” service allows companies to expand and provides information about who manufactured the product, the location of the company and the period of validity, said the source, highlighting that producers make the province proud at national and international exhibitions in which participate.

He mentioned that the number of companies is satisfactory, taking into account the last census that registered 1,627 companies, of which five percent are producers.

The official added that in recent days INAPEM has trained 70 leaders of cooperatives in the agrarian sector in matters of micro financing, product quality, competition, and other matters necessary to face the market.

“We are working in the interior with small producers who are dedicated to family farming so that they have access to information, the market, knowledge and so that they have access to institutions dedicated to financing”, he reinforced.
