Africa-Press – Angola. The chairman of the Angola-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Caetano Capitão, announced on Thursday in Luanda that at least 15 Indian companies have expressed interest in investing in Angola, focusing on sectors considered strategic for the national economy.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Angola-India Business Forum, the official stated that the investors intend to operate in the areas of agriculture, civil construction, renewable energies, assembly of solar-powered vehicles, battery production, pharmaceutical industry, information technologies and financial solutions.

Caetano Capitão explained that the delegation demonstrated strong interest in the existing opportunities in the Lobito Corridor and other logistics corridors, after contacts maintained with a ministerial entity, aiming at future establishment in the Angolan market.

He highlighted that the entrepreneurs showed interest in exporting Angolan products such as fruits, wood and medicinal plants, demonstrating India’s interest in natural raw materials and agricultural products.

Caetano Capitão highlighted that, despite being the first visit of this business group to the country, the companies already operate in other African markets and demonstrated confidence in Angola’s economic potential, having projects outlined to enter the national market.
