Africa-Press – Angola. Interclube revalidated, this Sunday, in the city of Huambo, the title of the national senior judo tournament “March/Women”, in both classes, by teams.
The formation of the Ministry of the Interior defeated in the final of this 12th edition of the competition, opened Saturday, the Elite team, from the province of Luanda.
Third place went to 1.o de Agosto, the same position it achieved in last year’s competition.
As for the individual, the tournament, played in the categories from less than 48 to 100 kg, was won by the Elite team, with five gold medals, two silver medals and an equal number of bronze medals.
Second place was occupied by 1.o de Agosto, with four gold and one silver medal, while “policias” remained in third place with two gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
In the end, the president of the Angolan Judo Federation, Hermenegildo dos Santos, made a positive assessment of the competition, taking into account the high number of participants and the high competitive level demonstrated.
The annual Tournament, an initiative of the Provincial Judo Association, is part of the celebrations of March 8, International Women’s Day, and aims to highlight the involvement of this social segment in sport.
of the competition had the participation of more than 320 male and female athletes, distributed in 53 teams, representing the provinces of Benguela, Bié, the newcomer Cabinda, Cuanza Norte, Cuanza Sul, Huambo, Huila, Luanda, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul , Malanje, Moxico, Namibe and Úige .
