Interclube wins 1º de Agosto and takes a look at the final of the Angola Cup

Africa-Press – Angola. Interclube took an important step towards the final of the Angola Cup, in men’s senior basketball, by winning, (Thursday), at the Victorino Cunha pavilion, in Luanda, 1o de Agosto, by 85-64.

The two teams, which have different histories and squads in that competition, are looking for a place in the final, with the aim of fighting to win the second biggest competition in the sport in the country. The balanced initial quarter ended with an even score, at 22 points.

In the second period, Elmer Felix and Emanuel Sebastião made the difference in Interclube, which achieved a comfortable lead of 48 -34, against 1o de Agosto, who showed some apathy in their approach to the table game, even without being very foul.

Without much pressure, the “police” developed their game, with the opposite coach, Lazare Adingono, constantly changing the defensive scheme, which did not work, given the quality of Interclube’s external game, which bet on Islando Manuel “Papa Ngulo ”, consolidating the result of 66-44.

The last period, with no margin for error, 1o de Agosto tried to change the course of the game, but the victory was consolidated, also the result of Interclube’s greater experience, against a 1o de Agosto, with mostly young players, who ended up losing 64-85.

The two teams will play again, Saturday, at the 28 de Fevereiro pavilion, home of the Inter team.

In the other semi-final, also played in the country’s capital, but at the ISPTEC pavilion, Petro de Luanda, holder of the title, beat Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito, by 118-73.
