Africa-Press – Angola. The new Israeli ambassador to Angola, Léo Vinovezky, on Thursday in Luanda, defended the need for increased trade and partnerships between the two countries.
During a dinner that served as his official presentation, the diplomat spoke to the press and defined the areas of science and technology applied to space, education, and agriculture as priorities. He also emphasized the importance of a partnership- and results-oriented approach.
The ambassador announced that, as part of the effort to strengthen the strategic partnership, the ministers of education from Angola and Israel will meet in February 2026 in the Israeli capital.
Vinovezky stated that Israel will organize a business meeting with the Angolan Agency for Private Investment and Exports (AIPEX) to connect Israeli entrepreneurs interested in investing in Angola.
The diplomat highlighted Angola’s investment opportunities and its current leading role in the African Union (AU), as well as the country’s hosting of several economic and trade conferences.
Vinovezky promised to work tirelessly to strengthen bilateral relations and noted that Israel aims to establish a new political dialogue to foster better understanding with Angola regarding local geopolitics and share experiences.
Relations between Angola and Israel, re-established in 1993, are marked by cooperation in areas such as agriculture, health, technology, and security. Embassies have been open in Luanda and Tel Aviv since 1995 and 2000, respectively.
Recently, both countries expressed a desire to further strengthen this partnership by focusing on Angola’s economic and technological development.
