Africa-Press – Angola. Israeli businesspeople are interested in investing in several areas in Angola, with emphasis on farming, technology, energy, water and security, the Israeli ambassador to Angola, Shimon Salomon, informed on Monday in Luanda.

Speaking at the 2nd Israel-Angola economic forum, the diplomat said that

business people from his country want to bring to Angola their experience in these areas, with a view to boosting cooperation between the two countries.

As for the forum, he considered the event as an opportunity for the entrepreneurs to better understand the country’s potential and gather more information about the investment process, as happened in the first Angola-Israel economic forum, held in 2022.

Shimon Solomon also added that this forum will also create the conditions for Israeli citizens to identify the areas and the process through which they can invest in Angola.

“We want to understand what new investment policies exist in Angola, so that, in 2025, we can bring Israeli investment in this country”, he highlighted.

He recalled that there are already businesses in some sectors in Angola, such as mining, and revealed that they are also willing to invest in the Lobito Corridor located in the province of Benguela, an issue that is being addressed by the Chamber of Commerce of both countries.

The diplomat recognized the common interests between Angola and Israel, which can share experiences in various areas, including health, agriculture and religious tourism, which is a new field that can generate revenue for both countries.

He said that his country wants to understand what new investment policies exist in Angola, so that, in the current year, they can bring Israeli investment to Angola.

Ambassador Shimon Solomon also considers diplomatic relations to be the best platform for economic affairs, adding that the two countries are working to improve the strengthening of this relationship.

In turn, the chairman of the Israel-Angola Chamber of Commerce, Uri Dali, who spoke in a video conference, expressed his intention to expand bilateral cooperation.

The chairman of the Angola-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Sebastião Francisco, said that the forum will encourage business people to identify the best sectors to invest in and expand their business.

He mentioned that many Israeli businesspeople do not have partnerships with Angolans due to the structuring of Angolan projects to be accepted as advantageous in ways for them to make investments.

Shimon Salomon informed that Israeli investors want openness and stability in partners, as is the case in other places in the world where companies have invested.

He highlighted that the turnover between Angola and Israel is USD 300 million.

Meanwhile, participants in the 2nd Economic Forum of the two countries, promoted by the Embassy of Israel in Angola, discussed topics such as “Investment in Angola by the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX)”, “Ways of doing business”, “Business opportunity and cooperation between Israel-Angola” and “Religious tourism”.
