Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, said, this Wednesday night, in Luanda, that he believes that in the next 48 hours there will be a ceasefire in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), followed by the barracks of the M23 forces.

“With the results that we consider to be positive, we have taken an apparently short step, but one of great significance if we take into account that within 48 hours the cessation of hostilities in certain locations in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, followed by the quartering of the M23 forces, of its disarmament and later the reintegration of its members into Congolese society”, detailed João Lourenço.

The Angolan statesman, who was speaking at the end of the Luanda Mini-Summit for Peace in the East of the DRC, explained that this is a program that will be fulfilled to the letter.

In his view, in a process “there are always situations to overcome and correct until we finally reach definitive peace in that territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo and we reach the resumption of normalization of relations between the DRC and Rwanda.
