The Academia de Letras de Angola (ALA) opens today, at 7:00 pm, the cycle of debates, on the Zoom platform, accessing the password ID 6985716385 and AAL 2022, with the participation of the editor João Ricardo, who will address the theme “Democratizing the dissemination of knowledge ”, with moderation by the writer António Quino.
João Ricardo Rodrigues is linked to the publisher Perfil Criativo, in Portugal, and Alende Edições, in Angola. The editor was born in Lobito and started publishing books by Angolan authors in 2015, after years of experience, most of them obtained in Angola. Its main objective is new authors in different literary aspects and technical works, it does not rule out reference writers, but is always concerned with quality.
Alende Edições was formally presented in Luanda, on May 13, 2019, at the African League. In the act, the editor explained the origin of the name, clouds that bring water to crops and justified it as prosperity and fertility. During this period, several proposals were presented.
According to the presentation note, it is an independent editorial project with a publisher in Portugal (Perfil Criativo) dedicated to the European Portuguese-speaking market, and another publisher in Angola (Alende).
As part of the programme, on the 10th, another editor will be on the program of the Academia de Letras de Angola, Arlindo Isabel, with the theme “The challenge of Publishers in Angola” and once again the moderation will be by António Quino. this month, the writers Ondjaki and Virgílio Coelho are scheduled, whose proposals are “Let’s talk about the Future” and “Promotion of the Book and Reading”, respectively, on the 17th and 24th of February with the writer Boaventura Cardoso, in moderation.
