The bishop of the Josafat Church, Gerson Pimentel, reaffirmed this Tuesday in Luanda the institution’s commitment to the integral development of Angola, focusing on promoting moral, ethical, and civic values as fundamental pillars for building a more just and prosperous society.
According to the religious leader, who was speaking after an audience with the fourth vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Justino de Andrade, the Josafat Church is investing heavily in youth training and mentoring programs.
He stated that the church aims to reinforce the principles that lead to integrity, responsibility, and respect for others.
The bishop also presented the church’s national reach, which includes more than 220 churches, 12,000 houses of worship, 80 bishops, approximately 1,000 pastors, and more than 16,000 direct collaborators, reaching approximately three million faithful throughout the country.In the social sphere, Gerson Pimentel explained that he carries out various solidarity initiatives, with a focus on supporting various musical groups and partner organizations.
Notable initiatives include outdoor gospel music campaigns and collections of four to ten tons of non-perishable goods, distributed in collaboration with municipal administrations to support the most needy communities.
“We are working with young people to promote moral and civic values, with the goal of building a better society and contributing to Angola’s development,” the bishop stated.
Regarding the meeting, he emphasized that it took place in a positive atmosphere, as it served to share the project’s progress and reaffirm their full willingness to collaborate in Angola’s progress with God’s values.
